Senior Curriculum

With our new Junior Curriculum up & rolling, students will be able to identify their areas of passion and possible vocational pathways better than ever, subsequently choosing the right subjects in our Senior Curriculum is about strengthening learning in the areas most applicable to each senior and truly then taking the first step in becoming a good person for a rapidly changing world.

At present Opunake High School offers 66 different course across the Arts, Health & PE, Humanities, Math, Music, Science, Te Whare Kura and Technology, without including all the opportunities available through our Gateway, STAR and WITT programmes.
On average just two students leave OHS at the end of their schooling with no immediate plan – whether that’s moving into employment or taking up tertiary studies. We’re proud of our success in helping our rangatahi to identify their strengths and interests and choosing to take those on.

For more information about courses available, you can take a look at the Subject Selection PDF attached below (taken from our Senior Course Selection Book, available under Resources on the Home page) or check out the subjects that interest you under Learning for available course credits.
