The Ōpunakē High School Board of Trustees is comprised of the Principal, elected parent trustees and elected staff and student representatives. Parent trustees must be nominated by a member of the school, and voted on by the school parent community. Elections are held every three years. The staff trustee is nominated and elected by the staff of the school; the student trustee is nominated and elected by the students of the school.
Board of Trustees Meetings are held monthly, the school community are welcome to attend and observe proceedings in the open meeting. The Board of Trustees also encourages and welcomes any feedback from the school community, you can do this by contacting the school office.
The Ōpunakē High School BOT is proud of the successful transition of our students in to a wide variety of career pathways and university degrees. Our schools ‘DREAMS’ values underpin the foundation of what is needed for our students to be successful in their chosen career path. The board prides itself on our schools mission statement of ‘Growing good people for a rapidly changing world’ and works closely with the senior leadership team to ensure Ōpunakē High School continues to be a leader in future focused learning.
