The one & only Pete Clement has managed to free himself from the shackles of teaching.

Not only a PE and Graphics teacher, he has been a huge mover and shaker in all things environmental. He really has put the 'S' for sustainability into our DREAMS values. Pete has been involved in the loop track, riparian planting, trapping, implementing recycling, the food garden, and exposing our students to environmental career pathways both here and overseas. However, he won't be a stranger as there are always more exciting projects around growing students to be kaitiaki of Aotearoa that he will continue to develop and lead.

Enjoy some well earned leisure time Pete!

Well done Henri & Leah.Last Thursday, a group of fantastic Surf Lifesaving volunteers became qualified IRB Crewpersons!
This means they can now crew in an IRB, strengthening the capability of our patrols and clubs across the province and Whanganui to help keep our swimmers safe.

Clubs represented:
• Whanganui: 3 drivers, 1 crewperson
• Fitzroy: 1 crewperson
• Ōpunake: 7 crewpersons

And on Friday and Saturday:
Surf Lifeguard Award (Lifeguard) qualifications:
• Ōpunake: 2
• Fitzroy: 3
• East End: 1

A huge thank you to all the assessors and tutors who dedicated their time and expertise to help these young people gain their qualifications. Your support strengthens our clubs and keeps our beaches safer.
