Tena Koutou, nga matua, kaitiaki me nga tauira
Nau Mai, Haere mai ki to matou kura tuarua o Opunake.

Opunake High School is a vibrant co-educational secondary school located in South Taranaki, which has approximately 345 students. Our philosophy is captured in our school vision “growing good people for a rapidly changing world”. We are an inclusive school and offer exciting opportunities for all students in academic, cultural and sporting areas.

Quality teaching and learning is the core business of the school and our students are academically challenged with a personalised learner centred education plan. Maintaining a safe and supportive environment is essential in enhancing student learning and achievement and this is supported by our DREAM values;
DILIGENCE, RESPECT, EXPECTATIONS, AROHA and MANA.
These values enable students and teachers to be actively involved in a balanced lifestyle, effectively manage a wide range of technological tools, manage themselves and reflect on how we can improve individually and as a school.

The school is an integral part of the community and receives strong whanau and community support. We develop students to be independent, collaborative, strategic and supported thinkers that are accountable to our community and able to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

We are proud of our school, its students, staff and their achievements. I encourage you to visit us to explore the amazing opportunities offered at Opunake High School. We very much look forward to your being part of our school community.
