Design Technology

Students from Year 11- 13 can make specific choices in their projects that will be assessed using Unit and Achievement Standards. The focus will be using a variety of hard materials to gain skill, as well as to complete a finished project.

Graphics

Graphics is a subject based on communication through design and drawing. Students develop their own solutions to design briefs. Design briefs range from Architectural and Engineering topics to Media Design.

Home Economics / Hospitality

Students learn to examine and understand their own eating patterns, and relationships between health and healthy eating. Students learn what it is like working n the hospitality industry and how food is a passion and provides employment for many.

Information Technology

During the year 9 module students experiment with visual programming using scratch, build websites and explore creative media on digital photography. Various courses are offered from year 11 -13 that incorporate skills and design. The essentials of Microsoft Office; word, excel and access are explored from year 11 -13. Emphasis is placed on the design and creation of published and online work using Adobe’s Creative Suite. Students experiment with Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash to produce quality work.
